Kindness in Every Way:

A Retreat in Bali

17-22 May 2020

About the Retreat

Experience a retreat with a difference. Be rejuvenated and nurtured, learn to deeply listen to your mind and body's needs, and explore how kindness can deeply influence outcomes in your work and home life. Return home empowered with the experience and ability to continue cultivating this essential quality of kindness beyond the after-glow of a retreat in paradise.

Li-Anne and Dimitri Yellachich are leaders of their respective fields. For the first time ever, in this exclusive retreat, they combine their expertise and shared vision of creating a kinder, wiser world. Dimitri, an eye surgeon, offers a wealth of experience of stressful work and life experiences, approaching it all from a unique and humorous perspective. Li-Anne and Dimitri Yellachich

Li-Anne Yellachich, PhD, is an experienced meditation teacher with decades of retreat and meditation experience. She also works with patients with cancer and their carers as a psychotherapist and counsellor. Highly attuned to the different needs of each person who sits in front of her, Li-Anne combines penetrative insight into the human condition with kindness and compassion in everything she does, allowing for the exquisite expression of each person to unfold in their unique ways.

Dimitri Yellachich, MD, is a leading eye surgeon with over 20 years of experience as a doctor, teacher and thought leader. His work with tens of thousands of people from a multitude of different backgrounds has demonstrated one thing clearly: that kindness is the way to achieve the best possible outcome in every situation. Whether he is running a busy clinic in Australia, operating in a developing country, teaching young doctors the art of surgery or presenting talks to the general public, his experience is that this simple premise is the key to success.

Li-Anne and Dimitri have been partners in life for over three decades. They have long awaited the time they could combine their skills to work together, and are looking forward to co-creating a unique retreat which they anticipate will be highly beneficial to all who participate.

A bit more about this retreat

Kindness is an essential human quality that is under-appreciated and often misunderstood. The value of this quality presents most obviously when we realise that a state of kindness cannot co-exist with ill-will and anger. If we softened into kindness all the time, the difficulties of our lives would diminish significantly, our perception of what is right in front of us would become less clouded, and wisdom would be allowed to arise.

This unique retreat combines the skills and talents of two leaders from very different fields, with a shared vision of helping you understand, explore and experience kindness from many angles. Set in the famously kind land of Bali and nurtured by wonderful people in an idyllic retreat setting, we start by learning to be kind to ourselves, as well as receive kindness from others. We learn to deeply listen to ourselves, and explore kindness in our thoughts, speech and actions. Only after we are better able to do this can we truly move on to kindness for others.

This bottom-up approach of Li-Anne’s is combined with Dimitri’s top-down approach, where stressful work and life situations are explored in a practical manner. We meet squarely in between, where the skills and understandings you will learn on this retreat can be taken home.  These skills can be implemented for maximal benefit to your life, and the lives of the people around you, on an ongoing basis; not just in the warm after-glow of a retreat.
